From challenge to change
Why We Started
The Youth Advancement Coalition (YAC) was founded with a vision to create healthier, more connected, and empowered young people. We recognized a growing need to address youth mental health challenges and substance use while creating more opportunities for young people to actively participate in their communities.
The challenge we saw
Across communities, we saw an increasing number of youth struggling with mental health concerns and substance use. We also recognized that many young people were experiencing a loss of connection, belonging, and meaningful engagement with the world around them.
Connection creates change
At YAC, we believe that connected youth are empowered youth. When young people feel valued, supported, and connected to their communities, they develop a stronger sense of responsibility, purpose, and confidence in their ability to make a difference.
Empowering the leaders of tomorrow
Through leadership opportunities, civic engagement, education, mentorship, and community partnerships, YAC helps youth discover their voices and recognize their potential as future leaders, advocates, and changemakers.
